Mountain Coast is looking to fill the following position immediately:

Lead Pipelayer

Looking for a an experienced lead pipe layer that has 5 years experience as pipe layer with 7-10 years total in the civil construction industry. The right candidate will have a strong work ethic, active listening skills, ability to retain what is taught, leadership qualities, bee willing to train and work well with others. General tasks are preparing job sites, unloading and distributing of materials, trench works, pipe installation, manhole & CB installation, keeping site organized and clean. Should understand grades/elevations and slopes. Have a familiarity with reading plans.

Responsibilities:

  • Reading blueprints/civil drawings
  • Understanding of elevations and grades
  • Site prep
  • Familiar with installing pipe using a pipe slope laser, storm detention and infiltration systems, water vaults, and manholes
  • Equipment experience is helpful but not needed

Qualifications:

  • Comfortable with Civil works - Storm, Water, Sanitary and Hydro/Tell
  • Safety working around equipment - Excavators, skid steers, trucks and other machines
  • Familiar with civil materials - pipes, fittings, manholes, catch basins etc.
  • Good knowledge of hand tools and power tools along with maintenance
  • Attention to details in surrounding work area with heavy equipment, shoring, open trenches
  • Work in adherence to all WCB work safe practices, procedures, as well as regulatory requirements

Requirements:

  • Pipe laying experience: 5 years
  • Driver's license
  • Reliable vehicle
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.
  • Available to work overtime on weekdays
  • Effectively communicate in verbal and written English
