Job Description:

We are seeking a Junior Project Coordinator to join our growing team. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn. You will assist in coordinating projects, managing documentation, and supporting business operations to ensure smooth workflows and timely delivery.

Please note: This is a paid, full-time 12-month internship position. The role may be submitted for consideration under the NOHFC Workforce Development Stream, which could provide funding support. There is potential for permanent employment upon successful completion of the internship.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in coordinating projects across departments and with external vendors and suppliers.
  • Prepare project estimates and develop work scopes.
  • Process time sheets and handle project-based invoicing for customers.
  • Prepare quotes and progress reports for ongoing projects.
  • Update project management records and dashboards to reflect current status.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery.
  • Support document control and compliance strategies.
  • Willingness to visit project sites within the city when required.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 0–2 years of experience in project coordination or related role.
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions and read plans/specifications.
  • Understanding of safety standards and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of general contract and subcontract documents.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer systems.
  • Must be able to provide a criminal background check and driver's abstract.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Smart Sheets, Microsoft project, GP Dynamics).
  • Experience with invoicing and vendor coordination.
  • Exposure to technical drawings, specifications, or industrial projects.

Eligibility Information:

Funding for this position may be provided through the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC) under the Workforce Development Stream.

To qualify for NOHFC internship funding, applicants must:

  • Be new entrants to the workforce, transitioning to a new career, or unemployed/underemployed and entering a new field
  • Not have previously participated in a NOHFC-funded internship
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Reside in Canada and be legally entitled to work in Canada
