We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Chiropodist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide specialized foot and ankle care, focusing on diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of podiatric conditions. The position involves engaging in patient care across various settings, including pediatrics and home care, utilizing advanced medical technology and documentation systems such as Epic and Cerner. A strong understanding of medical terminology and medical office procedures is essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' foot and ankle health, including diagnosis and treatment planning
  • Administer treatments such as medication management, wound care, and pain relief strategies
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care plans
  • Collect and analyze data related to patient outcomes to inform treatment approaches
  • Maintain accurate documentation using electronic health records systems like Epic and Cerner
  • Provide patient education on foot health, injury prevention, and post-treatment care
  • Assist with research initiatives aimed at improving podiatric practices and patient outcomes
  • Support home care services by delivering specialized foot care in patients' residences when necessary

Skills

  • Proven experience in hospital settings or outpatient clinics specializing in podiatry or related fields
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, and patient care protocols
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Epic and Cerner
  • Experience with data collection for clinical research or quality improvement projects
  • Ability to manage acute care cases effectively while providing compassionate patient-centered service
  • Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Knowledge of pediatric foot conditions and experience delivering home-based podiatric services is a plus
  • Ability to adapt to fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail in documentation and treatment procedures
