Software Engineer II

Overview

We are seeking a Software Engineer II to join our Microsoft Teams team, specializing in Enterprise Voice features. As an individual contributor, you will lead the development, optimization, and maintenance of high-quality web applications, ensuring seamless integration with voice over internet protocol (VoIP) and telephony systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovative solutions, enhance performance, and ensure reliability.

Responsibilities

Web UI: Develop responsive web interfaces, leveraging modern front-end libraries and frameworks like React, Angular, or to build intuitive user experiences.

Automation and Tools: Create and refine internal tools to improve the stability of our products through automated testing, and minimize long-term maintenance, release, and support costs.

Research and Innovation: Stay informed about the latest trends in web technologies and tools, supporting the team in integrating new technologies to maintain competitiveness and innovation.

Technical Support and Collaboration: Work in a large cross-functional engineering team to implement end-to-end solutions by participating in team and cross-functional discussions. Collaborate with Product Managers with diverse technological backgrounds. Work with support teams and solve technical problems as they arise.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
• OR equivalent experience.
• 2+ years experience with front-end web development and frameworks like React, Angular, or
• 2+ years experience in full-stack development, including databases and cloud technologies.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
• OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
• OR equivalent experience.
• Experience with back-end development in , .NET, or Python.
• Understanding of data structures, design patterns, and asynchronous programming.

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $85,000 - CAD $166,800 per year.
