Reporting to the Senior Director, Government Relations (Federal and Ontario) the successful candidate will play an important role in advocating for policies that support the passenger journey, the airline's goals and its contributions to Canada while ensuring that the aviation sector and its complexities are well understood.

Our extensive footprint requires that members of our team exercise a high level of diligence in identifying new policies and regulations that could have an impact in areas including but not limited to transportation, trade, environment and labour.

Core to this position is working in collaboration to establish, foster, and maintain relationships for Air Canada with elected and non-elected officials and their staff at the Federal and Provincial level (Ontario), along with municipalities across the province.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline required
  • Candidates must meet requirements to register with the Federal Lobbyist Registry.
  • Previous experience in Government and/or stakeholders' relations (5 to 10 years) and knowledge of government decision-making process is essential.
  • Knowledge of the airline industry is a benefit.
  • Proficiency in French and English both verbal and written is an asset.
  • Solid communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and planning skills.
  • Excellent decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • In-depth political and policy understanding.
  • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.

La collaboration est au cœur de ce poste afin d'établir, de favoriser et d'entretenir des relations entre Air Canada et tous les représentants (élus ou non) et leur personnel aux paliers fédéral et provincial (Ontario) ainsi qu'avec les municipalités de la province.

Qualifications :

  • Baccalauréat dans une discipline pertinente, une exigence.
  • La personne retenue doit répondre aux exigences d'inscription au Registre des lobbyistes auprès du gouvernement fédéral.
  • Expérience préalable dans les relations gouvernementales ou avec les parties prenantes (5 à 10 ans) et connaissance du processus de prise de décisions des gouvernements, une exigence.
  • Connaissance de l'industrie du transport aérien, un avantage.
  • Bilinguisme (français et anglais), à l'oral et à l'écrit, un atout.
  • Solides compétences en communication, à l'oral et à l'écrit
  • Excellentes habiletés en matière d'analyse, d'organisation et de planification
  • Excellentes habiletés pour la prise de decisions
  • Excellentes habiletés pour les relations interpersonnelles
  • Capacité à bien travailler sous pression et à respecter des délais serrés
  • Compréhension approfondie des politiques
  • Solides compétences en informatique (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Faire preuve de ponctualité et de fiabilité pour soutenir le succès global de l'équipe dans un milieu trépidant.
