About the Role

We are seeking a
Mechanical Engineer with P.Eng Certification in the Province of Ontario in the capacity of Engineer of Record
for a large-scale construction project located in St. Catharine's, Ontario. This position holds accountability and legal responsibility for the integrity of mechanical systems of a project, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire suppression. You are comfortable attending to construction worksites as a regular part of the role. You attest with your official seal that the designs, calculations, and documents for their portion of the work are compliant with all applicable codes, standards, and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Seal and certify engineering documents, including drawings, reports, and specifications, which certifies their compliance and accuracy.
  • Perform work as it relates to mechanical design and analysis. This includes calculations for HVAC system loads, plumbing sizing, and equipment specifications.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines, such as the structural and electrical engineers, to ensure all systems work together and avoid conflicts.
  • Act as a contact during the construction phase to address unforeseen issues or provide clarification on design intent.
  • Ensure the mechanical design complies with all relevant building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a valid Professional Engineering Designation issued by the Province of Ontario
  • Must have 5+ years of experience acting as Engineer of Record for mechanical design of building construction
