Overview

We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, and experience with various machining tools and techniques. This role involves , reading blueprints, and ensuring precision in manufacturing components. Candidates with experience in lean manufacturing principles will excel in this position. The Manual Machinist plays a vital role in producing high-quality parts through meticulous craftsmanship and technical expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Operate manual machines to produce precision components according to specifications
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, to determine machining requirements
  • Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, and other measuring instruments to ensure accuracy and quality
  • Set up machining equipment, including fixtures and tooling, adhering to safety standards
  • Perform routine maintenance on machinery and troubleshoot issues as they arise
  • Follow lean manufacturing practices to minimize waste and improve efficiency
  • Assist with assembly processes when necessary, ensuring parts meet quality standards
  • Utilize welding skills when required for fabrication or repair tasks
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety protocols

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Manual Machinist or similar role within a manufacturing environment
  • Mechanical knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and equipment operation
  • Experience in blueprint reading skills
  • Abel to operate manual lathe and milling machines
  • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, calipers, and welding techniques
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to machining tasks
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles for efficient workflow management
  • Ability to operate forklifts is a plus but not mandatory
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40.00-$43.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
