Assistant Project Engineer

MatchBox Consulting Group is on the hunt for a Assistant Electrical Project Engineer. This Candidate will be a fully qualified and accredited engineering professional who provides engineering design, estimating, planning, and quality management services for low to medium complexity projects safely, within budget, and on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop safe engineering solutions using initiative and judgement for low to medium complexity projects.
- Support project or operations management to meet safety, cost, quality, and time objectives.
- Prepare designs, drawings, specifications, calculations, reports, and other deliverables.
- Provide technical guidance and review work prepared by others.
- Manage design tasks including scope, schedule, and cost.
- Perform field reviews and construction support as required.
- Conduct engineering calculations including electrical clearances, EMF/ESF, transient overvoltage, switching voltages, AC interference, ampacity, radio interference, lightning protection, grounding, arcing, and EMTP studies.
Requirements (Must Haves)
- Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Registered, or eligible for immediate registration, as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng/P2P) with Engineers & Geoscientists BC.
- Minimum 4 years of progressive engineering experience in substation, transmission lines, protection, and control.
- Class 5 driver's license.
- Strong communication skills, including technical writing.
- Familiarity with CAD and standard industry design/analysis software.
- Intermediate MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Nice To Haves
- Previous utility or transmission project experience.
- Experience with telecom, protection and control, or large construction projects.
