Calgary, Alberta, Canada Vesta Wealth Partners Ltd. Full time $120,000 - $180,000 per year

Vesta is an innovative fund manager bringing top-shelf private market opportunities to retail investors. As a rapidly growing firm, we leverage technology to scale our operations and make these investment opportunities accessible to more Canadians than ever before.

We are seeking a DevOps Power Platform Engineer to be the primary technical resource driving our cloud-first transformation. This is a hands-on, individual contributor role for someone who thrives in a small, agile team and is passionate about using technology to scale impact. You will architect, build, and maintain cloud-native solutions using Microsoft Power Platform and Azure, ensuring all code and processes run exclusively in the cloud. You'll design robust, monitorable, and testable systems that integrate data from multiple SaaS platforms via APIs, with a relational database at the center.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with business stakeholders and a small technical team to deliver solutions aligned with Vesta's goals.
  • Architect and implement all infrastructure, code, and processes in the cloud (Azure/Power Platform), eliminating reliance on local machines.
  • Build, customize, and maintain applications using Power Apps, Power Automate, and related Power Platform tools.
  • Design and manage secure, scalable integrations with various SaaS platforms using RESTful APIs.
  • Work with a central relational database (Azure SQL, Dataverse, or similar) to aggregate and manage data from multiple sources (no database design required).
  • Develop Python scripts and services for data ingestion, transformation, and automation tasks.
  • Manage data reconciliation processes, ensuring data integrity across systems and platforms, with support from a data analyst.
  • Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and automated testing for all cloud services and integrations.
  • Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and testing (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, etc.).
  • Document system architecture, processes, and code to support maintainability. Establish and enforce best practices for cloud security, reliability, and scalability.
  • Clearly communicate expected timelines, risks, trade-offs
  • and outcomes in non-technical terms.
  • Take ownership of technical challenges, proactively identify risks, and propose solutions before issues escalate.
  • This is an IC role with no expectations of project management, people management or presentation.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or software development.
  • Proven expertise with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse).
  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure cloud services.
  • Advanced Python programming skills, especially for API integration and automation.
  • Experience working with relational databases in the cloud (no design required).
  • Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, authentication, and data integration.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native DevOps practices.
  • Strong focus on monitoring, logging, and automated testing.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills - able to bridge technical and business language

Why Join Vesta?

At Vesta, you'll be at the heart of our technical strategy, driving the tools and systems that enable us to scale. You'll work in a collaborative, agile team where your contributions directly impact how we grow and serve our clients.

  • Competitive salary and incentives.
  • Flexible work arrangements (hybrid).
