Accounting Manager

What you'll be doing:
- Collaborate directly with Partners to understand clients' businesses and systems, planning and performing Compilation, Review, and Audit engagements.
- Prepare, review, and finalize financial statements with accuracy, completeness, and adherence to professional standards.
- Oversee engagement workflows, monitoring budgets, deadlines, and quality throughout the process.
- Assign, supervise, and review staff work while providing guidance and feedback to support professional growth.
- Review and prepare corporate, personal, and special tax filings, identifying opportunities for tax planning and advising clients on strategies.
- Conduct accounting and tax research, documenting findings and communicating recommendations to clients and Partners.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication, responsiveness, and tailored advice.
- Manage client expectations, resolve issues, and oversee time records.
- Provide leadership by modeling professionalism, technical expertise, and client service while mentoring and motivating staff.
- Stay up to date with accounting standards, tax regulations, and industry developments.
- Support business development by networking, promoting the firm's services, and growing client relationships.
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
- CPA designation achieved through public accounting.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in accounting or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting, tax, and assurance engagements with the ability to manage audit or review engagements from start to finish.
- Proven leadership and networking skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of an organization.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite; knowledge of QuickBooks Online and CCH iFirm is an asset.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and accountable, able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
