Essential Responsibilities:
- Operate snowplow trucks, wheel loaders, and other heavy equipment as required
- Maintain Alaska Highways year-round, including assisting with Labourer duties (crack sealing, pothole repair, bridge and signage cleaning, hazard remediation, etc.)
- Work outside in all weather conditions
Qualifications:
- Successful completion pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Valid Class 1 or 3 driver's license with air endorsement
- Clear 3-year driver's abstract
- Previous experience operating a snowplow truck and/or wheel loader is a strong asset
Work Conditions:
- As we respond to various weather patterns, some shift work, on-call, and night shift will be required
- Benefits and RSPs provided by CLAC union
- Camp provided in remote locations
- Due to the nature of the work, preference will be given to local applicants
Compensation:
- Operators will be provided a base rate of $29.86 to $36.62/ hr.
Compensation
This is the applicable wage range for this position. Individuals will be assigned a base wage within this range based on trade certification and/or apprenticeship level, industry experience, and work location.
Remote, site-based positions may be eligible for additional incentives including but not limited to travel and accommodation allowances.
