Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Roofer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining flat and low-slope roofing systems at the instruction of the crew foreman, ensuring all work is performed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively as part of a roofing crew.

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain flat roofing systems including: EPDM, TPO, PVC, Modified Bitumen, and Built-Up Roofing (BUR).
  • Remove old roofing materials and prepare surfaces for new installations.
  • Apply insulation, vapor barriers, and waterproof membranes.
  • Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
  • Inspect and test roofing systems for leaks or damage.
  • Maintain clean and organized job sites.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and use appropriate PPE.
  • Communicate effectively with foremen, project managers, and team members.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure safety protocols are followed on job sites.

Requirements

  • Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work at heights safely.

  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to read blueprints and follow technical instructions accurately.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing for extended periods.
  • Tolerance to heat, cold, and outdoor working conditions.
  • Able to work a dynamic schedule - work hours may vary depending on project demands and weather conditions.

Assets

  • Previous flat roofing experience is preferred
  • Valid working at heights, first aid and WHMIS certificates
  • Proven experience in construction, with a focus on roofing preferred.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Strong understanding of carpentry principles related to roofing applications.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00-$36.00 per hour

Expected hours: 44 – 60 per week
