This position is part of the Association of the Academic Staff of the University of Alberta (AASUA).

In accordance with the Trust/Research Academic Staff Agreement, this position has a comprehensive benefits package and an annual salary range of $80,772 - $100,981. This position has an initial appointment of 1 year, with the possibility of extension.

Location - This role is hybrid with a mix of remote and in-person work at North Campus, Edmonton.

The Division of Rheumatology is an internationally recognized group with diverse research interests, including but not limited to rheumatoid arthritis, spondyloarthritis, vasculitis, lupus, osteoporosis, artificial intelligence and medical education.

The Division of Rheumatology invites applications for a Research Associate who will serve as a shared research resource for the division. In this role, you will support multiple rheumatologists and teams, helping to turn ideas into high-quality studies that improve care for people living with rheumatic diseases.

Working across a portfolio of projects, you will contribute to study design, protocol and ethics development, data collection and analysis, and the preparation of manuscripts and presentations. This position is well-suited to someone with graduate training in epidemiology, biostatistics, public health, or a related field who enjoys applying their methodological skills to diverse research questions rather than working within a single lab.

This position requires that the incumbent be eligible to participate in government-funded research projects including active ability to receive federal research funds on behalf of the university. Individuals having an active affiliation with a Named Research Organization are ineligible to participate in government-funded research projects in Sensitive Technology Research Areas in Canada.
