Dura-Line is hiring a Shipping Attendant in our manufacturing plant in St. Albert, AB to help oversee the production of high-quality products within the department. You will be responsible for the proper preparation and loading all outgoing shipments of finished products, unloading incoming shipments, maintaining shipping yard/workspace and transporting materials/finished products to appropriate department and/or storage location.
Schedule: Currently 8-hour day shift, starting at 730am until 430pm Monday to Friday. Some overtime and/or vacation coverage may be required Seasonal requirements may change this schedule based on operational/production capacity.
SAFETY is priority Safety Steel Toed Shoes are required (must be CSA approved). Shoe Reimbursement voucher provided upon start date.
Responsibilities:
- Load and coordinate outgoing shipments, process and print bills of lading and paperwork
- Unload incoming shipments and receive goods in SAP, ensuring proper documentation (stamped, labeled) and storage of the product, and submit to appropriate shipping personnel.
- Assemble, package products/materials for shipment if required – wrap, add protection per standard work instructions.
- Label identifying information and shipping instructions onto boxes, reels or containers and ensure proper documentation for shipments.
- Communicates with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials
- Examine outgoing shipments for any product defects
- Assist Shippers/Material Handlers with inventory control, provide weekly, monthly and yearly cycle count for steel reels and inventory
- The Reel Return/ Shipping Attendant will unload incoming shipments of returned reels, count parts and keep inventory accuracy. The role will manage the steel reel program, receive goods in SAP (System Application of Products) and provide backup/assistance to our Shipping Coordinator and Inventory Control Specialist. Monitors inventory transactions occurring daily during standard manufacturing processes. This position will assist Shipping by properly preparing and loading outgoing shipments of finished products, and transport of materials/finished products to appropriate department and/or storage locations. This position will also assist in building reels as needed
- Place Shipping Labels on all shipments.
- Route items to appropriate departments if required
Qualifications:
- At least two (2) years working in Shipping/Receiving within a Manufacturing, Warehousing, Supply Chain, or Distribution enviroment is required.
- At least two (2) years with significant Customer Service, External Client experience, including face-to-face, email, and telephone communication. .
- Microsoft Office experience is required, SAP experience or any other Supply Chain software experience is an asset.
Working conditions:
- This is a moderately physical demanding position, both with sedentary and active mobility tasks. Time will involve tasks at your desk/office, but will also include significant periods around the property.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds with or without reasonable assistance
- Ability to move from one area to another by stepping over and/or bending under objects
- Mobility sufficient to allow frequent entrance and exits from lift truck.
- Non-climate controlled facility
- Prolonged periods on the plant floor or warehouse area working in a manufacturing environment that may require walking, standing, etc including operating a forklift.
- May spend time in an office environment, on a computer or in meetings.
- Must be able to work in variable weather conditions and in an environment with many noises
- Comfortable wearing appropriate PPE while in production and warehouse areas.
