Shift Time: Monday, Tuesday and Friday - 4:00PM to 8:00PM. Saturday and Sunday 6:00AM to 2:30PM

Objective

Participate in the surfacing of lenses to ensure that Production targets are met in accordance with safety and quality standards.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. 90% Rx/Stock Invoicing and Shipping

  2. Receives Rx jobs from QA and/or stock orders from warehouse pickers, for invoicing and shipping. Use of DVI as well as couriers' label printers

  3. Matches carefully the eyewear pair of glasses with the correct invoice, shipping label and supplies (if any)

  4. Packages jobs in appropriate shipping boxes

  5. Drops the packages in appropriate ICS, UPS, Purolator, Loomis designated bags/locations

  6. Prints out shipping manifests as per each courier's pick-up time

  7. Understands and follows appropriate SOP's

  8. 10% Picking:

  9. Receives incoming orders from Order Entry and/or Lab (breakages) into warehouse

  10. Picks incoming Rx/stock jobs/orders from the designated bin locations, as per work-ticket instructions

  11. Scans properly all items picked, updating inventory accordingly

  12. Specific procedures are to be followed when picking semi-finished lenses vs. finished products

  13. All trays/stock orders are to be dropped off in designated work locations for processing, as per job requirements. Scans into the appropriate lab locations

  14. Understands and follows appropriate SOP's

  15. Miscellaneous activities

  16. Receive incoming materials (non-raw materials)

  17. Restock lenses

  18. Any other duties, as deemed necessary and required by the department supervisor

Product/Technical knowledge

  • Strives to improve technical knowledge daily and continuously applies that knowledge in the daily activity

  • Takes the initiative to notice and follow-up on discrepancies; suggests improvements; recommends solutions and does what is necessary to ensure customer satisfaction

Qualifications

  • High school graduate is the minimum education requirement

  • Optical background considered a strong asset

  • Must be able to work in a fast paced, high volume environment

  • Must be well organized, detail oriented, have excellent time management and multi-tasking abilities

  • Continuous learning is a large part of this position

  • Must have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)

  • Must be able to work in a team atmosphere as well as an individual with minimal supervision

  • Standing, walking, reaching and bending constantly throughout the day

  • Low, moderate and high noise levels (not to exceed standards)

  • Occasional lifting/carrying 10lbs. or less, pushing/pulling 30lbs or less
