Job Description:

We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team primarily as Zipline Guides. For those interested and adept, there will also be opportunities to rotate into a Guest Services role, giving staff members the chance to experience a different aspect of the operation.

Zipline Guide Duties:

  • Display professional leadership; interact with guests in a humorous, engaging, and friendly manner while providing an educational and exhilarating interpretive experience.
  • Ensure tours operate in a timely, safe, and thrilling manner for every guest.
  • Outfit guests according to ZipZone safety guidelines and manage tour timing efficiently.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and technical training protocols at all times.
  • Complete daily tour logs and all applicable paperwork.
  • Assist with the general upkeep and appearance of the Base Camp and check-in area, site cleanliness, and trail maintenance.

Guest Service Agent Duties (Optional Rotation):

  • Facilitate seamless guest check-ins, ensure accurate waiver processing, assist with reservations, and handle payments efficiently.
  • Provide comprehensive information on weight restrictions, group bookings, and the sale of food, beverages, and merchandise.
  • Utilize our booking system to schedule zipline tours and manage reservations.
  • Conduct daily cash-out procedures, ensuring precise reconciliation of transactions.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels by overseeing supplies and merchandise.
  • Assist with communication management by answering incoming phone calls, responding to emails, and addressing messages across social media channels promptly.

Desired Training and Experience:

  • Previous experience in guest services or hospitality is preferred.
  • Strong public speaking skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
  • Experience working with children is a plus; must be comfortable interacting with families and groups of all ages.
  • Basic cash handling experience is beneficial.
  • A passion for outdoor activities and adventure sports is essential.
  • Must possess strong customer service skills and a friendly demeanour.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as required.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • First Aid training is an asset.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to lift 20-50 lbs of gear several times a day.
  • Capable of being on your feet for most of the day, sometimes up to 8 hours per day.
  • Comfortable working at significant heights and outdoors, regardless of weather conditions.
  • Sound judgment, decision-making skills, and effective communication.

Your Work Day:

This position primarily involves guiding zipline tours, with an optional rotation into guest services duties for interested candidates. Shifts typically last between 6 to 10 hours and may vary depending on guest bookings. Shoulder season hours will vary from 20 to 40 hours depending on guest bookings. During the peak season, we strive to provide 32 to 40 hours of work per week. Evening and weekend shifts are likely, and flexibility is essential.

Training and Mentorship:

Comprehensive training will be provided to equip you with the necessary skills for both roles. Guide training is mandatory and will last 4-6 days. Ongoing mentorship will be available throughout the season, provided by experienced guides and the Course Manager.

Hiring Process:

Initial screening involves reviewing resumes and cover letters. Suitable candidates will be selected for an interview, which will be conducted either virtually or in person, depending on the candidate's location. Successful candidates will be presented with an offer of employment contingent upon background checks and successful completion of guide training.
