Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Tutor to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to helping students succeed academically while fostering a positive learning environment. This role involves providing personalized instruction and support to students of various ages and backgrounds, ensuring they grasp key concepts in their studies. A background in tutoring or education is highly desirable, along with proficiency in multiple languages such as Spanish, Japanese, Mandarin, or French.

Duties

  • Conduct one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions tailored to individual student needs.
  • Plan and deliver engaging French lessons that develop students' speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
  • Create a positive and supportive learning environment that motivates students at different proficiency levels.
  • Design and implement assessments, including quizzes, assignments, and exams, to evaluate student progress.
  • Provide individualized support and feedback to help students improve their language skills.
  • Incorporate cultural content to enhance students' understanding of Francophone cultures.
  • Develop lesson plans and teaching materials that align with curriculum standards.
  • Monitor and report student progress to parents, guardians, or academic coordinators when needed.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events as required.
  • Maintain classroom organization and discipline to ensure an effective learning environment.
  • Stay updated with new teaching methods and educational technology to enhance instruction.
  • Encourage and motivate students to achieve their academic goals while building their confidence.
  • Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding student progress and areas for improvement.
  • Maintain a positive and engaging classroom atmosphere that promotes learning.

Experience

  • Previous experience in tutoring or teaching is preferred, particularly with adult.
  • Strong communication skills in French and English; proficiency in additional languages such as Mandarin.
  • Ability to write clear and concise lesson plans and educational materials.
  • Familiarity with classroom dynamics and educational best practices.
  • A genuine passion for education and a desire to make a difference in students' lives.
