In this role you will have the opportunity to develop cutting edge cloud deployment platforms and gain highly coveted experience in migrating the enterprise to the hybrid cloud. You will interact with a team of passionate cloud engineers who thrive on solving challenging technical problems and creating great products that delight customers.

What will you do?

  • Build enterprise platforms in Azure, AWS and GCP for the greater bank to support modern development techniques and architectures
  • Leverage containerization technologies such as Kubernetes (AKS, EKS, OCP), Cloud Foundry to build multicloud, multitenant platforms
  • Deliver capabilities using practices such as Infrastructure as Code and GitOps
  • Lead a team of like-minded platform engineers to build the cloud platforms as part of the RBC hybrid cloud strategy
  • Promote automation and infrastructure best practices
  • Fearlessly face challenging technical problems, use your superpowers to solve them, and help your peers by sharing your unique solutions
  • Create awesome educational material for fellow engineers, like sample cloud native apps and starter code
  • Continuously learn new technical skills and practice by applying them in your day-to-day work

What do you need to succeed?
Must Haves:

  • Proficient in Golang programming
  • Proficient in Python programming
  • Proficient in Terraform programming
  • Proficient in automating complex workflows using GitHub Actions and Jenkins
  • Experience in building complex Azure architectures
  • Security focused mindset and development practices
  • Ability to lead and elevate a team of junior and senior developers

Nice to have:

  • Experience in OO languages
  • Experience in regulated industries
  • Experience with building microservices
  • Experience with configuration management automation tools
