Are you an experienced dog handler who can confidently walk up to 6 dogs at once?

Out N About Pet Care is expanding our Group Walk & Adventure Hike division and we're looking for a highly skilled, professional dog walker to join our award-winning team. For over 10 years, we've set the standard for premium, safe, and reliable pet care in Barrie and surrounding areas.

This role is ideal for someone with extensive dog handling experience who can step into a group-walk leadership role with minimal training required.

What You'll Do

  • Lead safe, structured group walks with 4–6 dogs at a time
  • Manage long-line, trail, and neighbourhood group routes
  • Assess dog compatibility and maintain safe grouping practices
  • Follow behaviour notes, safety protocols, and positive reinforcement methods
  • Provide enrichment-based outings and exercise for dogs of varying energy levels
  • Drive dogs to and from trail locations when needed
  • Maintain professional communication with management and clients
  • Keep dogs safe, calm, and engaged while using our proven handling systems

What We Require (Required Experience)

  • Minimum 2 years of professional dog handling experience

(dog walking, daycare/kennel, pack walking, training, or behaviour work)

  • Ability to safely walk 4–6 dogs at once
  • Confident handling strong pullers, reactive dogs, and high-energy breeds
  • Experience with long-line, off-leash, or enrichment-based walking

Skills & Requirements

  • Valid G driver's license + reliable vehicle to transport dogs (mobile role: 30–80 km/day)
  • Strong understanding of dog communication, body language & behaviour
  • Calm, confident, and safety-focused under pressure
  • Commitment to positive reinforcement (LIMA-based, fear-free handling)
  • Excellent communication & time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and follow protocols
  • Midday availability 3–5 days per week
  • 1-year minimum commitment
