Your role as a Small Business Advisor is fast paced. You thrive on the pressure of adjudicating credit quickly and with accuracy providing exceptional member service. The experience you bring to the role gives you the confidence to gather the right information, structure the deal properly & according to policy, and minimize risk to Servus and the member. You build relationships with ease while leveraging the opportunities to work with retail branches and small business owners in business development. As the subject matter expert in the team you are often sought out to mentor and coach others. Identifying additional needs through discussion with the member supports Servus's new purpose of "igniting the power of shared prosperity".

What you'll be doing:

The scope of your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Develop and maintain effective sales and marketing efforts to maximize Small Business loan growth, deposit growth and sales of peripheral products to help our members succeed in business
• Understand and be proficient in our current Business Banking and Retail Banking products and services, relevant policies, and legislation by regularly reviewing literature, attending meetings and training sessions
• Provide credit-based Business solutions within your Small Business lending limit
• Support Retail Branches through meetings and/or conference calls on product knowledge for Small Business

What you bring:

To qualify, you'll need at least the following:

• Exceptional communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work full time while the Small Business Advisor Partner is away
• Easily identify opportunities to create efficiencies within the partnership
• Minimum two to five years progressive experience in most facets of lending and sales in retail and small business  
• Working knowledge of consumer and residential mortgage lending practices and products
• Experience working and developing relationships with internal and external partners
• Related post-secondary education an asset
