Job Title: Sr. Data Engineer
Location: Mississauga, ON – Hybrid
Employment Type: Full-time / Contract (6 Months)
Key Skills & Experience:
- 10+ years in data engineering, building OLTP and OLAP databases on-prem and in the cloud.
- 5+ years in large-scale data processing using SQL, Python, Pandas, PySpark, Databricks Lakehouse, Azure, and Kafka.
- Experience with Medallion architecture, data pipelines, ETL/ELT frameworks, API-based integration, and streaming data ingestion.
- Strong background in solution design, data modeling, ER/UML diagrams, and test-driven development.
- Familiarity with orchestration tools (Airflow, Tidal), CI/CD, DevOps practices, and Agile/Scrum methodology.
- Finance/Investment Banking domain knowledge (Securities, Capital Markets) and security reference data.
- Nice to have: ADF and SSIS experience
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and frameworks for Databricks Lakehouse.
- Integrate frameworks with the core data platform and assist data mesh teams in onboarding and best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality, reliable, and compliant data
delivery.
Education:
College degree required.
