Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Buyer to support procurement activities within our fast-paced contract manufacturing environment. The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing inventory levels of electronic components, materials and services required by the organization. This role works closely with sales, planning, inventory and production teams to ensure material availability is aligned with manufacturing schedules while maintaining strong supplier relationships and strategic cost management.

Duties

  • Create and manage purchase orders and related actions including rescheduling, confirmations, expediting, and supplier exceptions.
  • Confirm pricing, availability, and delivery commitments to ensure materials arrive according to production requirements.
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships and support vendor performance improvement initiatives.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms to achieve cost savings and support long-term business strategy.
  • Source components and materials when existing suppliers have constraints or shortages.
  • Prepare material status updates, purchasing reports, and required documentation.
  • Accurately maintain procurement data and records within the ERP system.
  • Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support additional supply chain activities as required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years of procurement experience.
  • Electronics component buying experience is considered an asset.
  • Experience with ERP system and databases.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal directly with external suppliers and vendors.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience in a manufacturing or electronics environment preferred.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing timelines, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm, organized, and effective in fast-paced or time-sensitive situations.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and take on new challenges as required.

Wage is negotiable upon experiences.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $1.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
