PSL300 - Sessional Lecturer (Summer 2026)

The Department of Physiology, University of Toronto (St. George campus) is recruiting a Sessional Lecturer to teach PSL300H1 (Human Physiology I) during the 2026 Summer Session. The course will run from May to June 2026, inclusive of the term tests and examinations.
Course Code and Title: PSL300H1 – Human Physiology I
Course Description: First half of a 2-course survey of human physiology; encompasses the nervous, endocrine and reproductive systems.

Sessional Dates of Appointment: May to June 2026
Salary: In accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement, the rate of pay for teaching in this course will be $4,200, inclusive of vacation pay.
Qualifications: PhD in physiology or related discipline and Quercus experience are required. Lecturing experience in physiology and in teaching large classes are also required. Prior teaching experience in PSL300H is an asset.
Description of Duties: Delivering 12 X 50 min recorded lectures on neurophysiology, supervising the TAs who monitor the discussion board, assist in help sessions and mark assignments; organizing and administering term tests, final exam/course, make-up tests and make-up final exam; processing test scores; providing a means for students to view their answers after the term tests; posting the instructor lecture notes/recordings and quizzes on the course webpage; dealing with student administration inquiries and processing emails about missed tests; submitting the final marks to the Faculty of Arts and Science one week after the final assessment; and interacting with the Course Director or the Department of Physiology Undergraduate Coordinator.
