Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Automotive Technician Apprentice to join our team in Saint John. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles, ensuring high-quality service and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service and will be working with our foreman

Responsibilities:

  • Assists with general maintenance and minor repairs under supervision, following dealer and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Learns and performs tasks from work orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Participates in training programs, meetings, and manufacturer-sponsored events to build technical knowledge.
  • Uses tools and equipment responsibly; maintains and returns them properly.
  • Coordinates with the parts department to obtain necessary parts.
  • Inspect vehicles with guidance to identify additional maintenance or safety needs.
  • Communicate promptly with supervisors about additional work, delays, or unnecessary repairs.
  • Documents are all work performed and recommended in work orders.
  • Performs road tests when authorized.
  • Stays informed on technical bulletins and service updates.
  • Reports on faulty equipment and safety concerns to supervisors.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area.
  • Follows environmental and safety regulations.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and attitude.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Must work towards obtaining certification
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle systems and components.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
