We are currently seeking a skilled 3rd to 5th year Apprentice to join our team. We specialize in high end residental projects and seek a dedicated individual who is eager to expand their knowledge and have experience working on these types of projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems while adhering to all safety regulations.

Applicants selected for employment must posses the following mandatory, valid training certificates:

  • Working at Heights (from a Ministry of Labour approved Training Provider)
  • Elevated Work Platform
  • Worker Health & Safety Awareness
  • WHMIS
  • Registered apprenticeship with an affiliated and accredited organization

Candidate must live within 40km of in City or Toronto.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems.
  • Read technical diagrams and blueprints.
  • Perform general electrical maintenance.
  • Inspect transformers and circuit breakers and other electrical components.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing devices.
  • Repair and replace equipment, electrical wiring, or fixtures.
  • Follow National Electrical Code state and local building regulations.
  • Circuit breaker corrective maintenance.
  • Good knowledge of various test equipment.
  • Client facing interactions

Requirements:

  • Registered apprenticeship with an affiliated and accredited organization
  • 3rd to 5th term experience working as an apprentice in residental and commerical
  • High school diploma.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Electrician degree from a technical college in Ontario
  • Read blueprints, and maintenance and repair knowledge..
  • Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g., wire strippers, voltmeter, etc.) and electrical drawings and blueprints.
  • Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent physical condition and flexibility to work long shifts and overnight.
  • Own tools- cordless drill, impact drill, muti-voltage tester
  • Reliable transportation
  • Clean and tidy appearance

Skills:

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong time management abilities.
  • Proficient in estimating time of electrical repairs and installations.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams.
  • Knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and the Canadian Electrical Code (ECE).
  • Proficiency in using power tools
  • Proficiency speaking, reading and writing in English

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $17.90-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week

  • Toronto, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
