The Grey Nuns Hospital Emergency department is one of Edmonton's highest volume Emergency Departments. Our team of health care professionals is focused on providing specialized Emergency care and urgent treatments in a community hospital setting. The Unit Clerk is an integral member of the ED team. You will play an important role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will help support safe, quality patient and family centered care with attention to promoting a positive patient experience to those we serve in the Emergency Department all while practicing and role-modelling our Covenant values of Respect, Compassion, Integrity, Collaboration, Stewardship, and Social Justice. Description:
The Unit Clerk performs a variety of duties in support of the health care team including processing physician orders and liaising with other departments. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the CUPE 41 Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:
Must have a Certificate from a recognized training program which includes a practicum component. A course in Medical Terminology is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Additional Required Qualifications:
Acute care experience as a unit clerk in a hospital setting required. Able to work quickly and efficiently in a stressful environment required. Ability to represent Covenant Health professionally in all interactions required. Ability to multitask and prioritize appropriately required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Recent Emergency experience within the last 2 years preferred. Experience with Connect Care EHR asset; Emergency Connect Care ASAP preferred.
