Freelance Bookkeeper

The Dog House Catering is seeking a part time freelance bookkeeper to support ongoing bookkeeping, historical cleanup, and year end preparation. This role is ideal for a detail-focused professional who works independently and communicates clearly. Local candidates in Fredericton and surrounding areas are preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Clean up and organize existing books
• Reconcile bank feeds and maintain accurate records
• Complete routine bookkeeping tasks in a timely manner
• Work with the owner to prepare 2025 for year end
• Review prior years and identify issues, corrections, and gaps
• Ensure transactions are recorded correctly, including mixed payment sources (cash, e-transfer, personal credit card)

Requirements:

• Strong understanding of sole proprietorship and partnership bookkeeping
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to analyze transactions and understand context before recording
• Experience with Xero and QuickBooks Online or willingness to learn both
• Familiarity with Dext is an asset
• Reliable communication and ability to work independently on flexible hours
