Job Description

Are you passionate about creating a positive experience through food? We are seeking a dedicated Food Service Worker to join our dynamic team at the Canadian Forces Base in Halifax.

You'll play a vital role in fueling the minds and bodies of the members of the Canadian Forces Base. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and love bringing smiles to people's faces through great food and service, we want to hear from you

Job Responsibilities
  • Prepares all food items using prep lists and standard Aramark recipes.
  • Follows proper food handling procedures.
  • Maintains accurate rotation of food to assure top quality and freshness.
  • Manages leftover foods correctly; cover, label, date, and accurately store according to Aramark standards.
  • Maintains clean and orderly refrigerators and work areas.
  • Ensures stations are cleaned, sanitized, and organized at the end of the shift (including cleaning of kitchen equipment).
  • Maintains a safe and sanitary work environment that conforms to all food safety standards and regulations.
  • Follows safety policies and accident reporting procedures.
  • Completes all required training
  • Ensures protection of company assets
Qualifications
  • 1+ years Kitchen Help, Food Service, or Prep Cook experience
  • Valid WHMIS and Food Safe (Basic or Advanced), First Aid Certification is an asset
  • Knowledge of and commitment to upholding high standards of food safety and hygiene
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently supervised and unsupervised
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a genuine desire to provide outstanding customer service
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues to ensure smooth operations

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

This is a full-time, permanent position.
