Architectural Designer – Refurbishment

Job Summary
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Architectural Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing innovative design solutions for various architectural projects, ensuring that they meet both aesthetic and functional requirements. This role requires a strong understanding of architectural principles and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, engineers, and other stakeholders. In this role, you'll help shape the design direction of our refurbishment projects while ensuring they align with client budgets and project goals.
Duties
- Collaborate with clients to understand their vision and requirements for architectural projects.
- Create detailed architectural designs, including drawings, models, and presentations using software and other design tools.
- Create detailed budget estimates and ensure designs are feasible within financial constraints.
- Prepare project documentation, including specifications, reports, and presentations for client meetings.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, zoning laws, and safety regulations throughout the design process.
- Work closely with engineers and contractors to ensure designs are feasible and can be executed within budgetary constraints.
- Revise designs based on feedback from clients or team members while maintaining project timelines.
Skills
- Proficiency in architectural design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of building materials, construction methods, and sustainable design practices.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively articulate design concepts to clients and team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all aspects of design work.
- Proven experience in architectural design, especially for refurbishments or renovations with strong proficiency in budgeting and cost estimation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or related field.
- 1 + years of experience in architectural design with a focus on refurbishment or renovation projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite (or similar).
- Strong understanding of construction methods, building systems, and budgeting principles.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred:
- Experience in commercial or hospitality renovation projects.
- Knowledge of local building codes and permitting processes.
