Qualifications:
• A construction related diploma or equivalent combination of technical training and related experience
• 5+ years Civil Construction experience with 5 years in a supervisory role and ability to lead and evaluate trade performance
• Effectively use technology and Microsoft Office Suite
• Advanced knowledge of all disciplines within construction management - Safety Compliance, Scheduling, Cost control, Quality control etc.
• Effective interpersonal skills to communicate with various stakeholders including vendors, subcontractors, staff, and senior management
• Able to evaluate performance, coach crew members and develop a highly functional team
• Valid G driver's license and the ability to travel on changing business needs
• Physically inclined to use stairs, ladders, scaffolding and climb over rough terrain, and work in all weather conditions and environmental elements
• Willingness to work occasional weekends and evening shifts as the project schedule demands
• Monitor work performance and efficiency of crushing and screening staff to deliver on schedule within budget
• Determine work priorities and coordinate work activities within the design area and with others
• Exercise control over productivity to complete requirements within time limits
• Assure products meet all specifications and defined quality standards, in collaboration with crushing forepersons
• Ensure senior management is informed about potential scheduling issues etc. in a timely manner and assist in resolving such issues
• Ensure all operations are conducted within the guideline set forth in Miller Paving's Safe Work Procedures/Practices
• Schedule crusher moves and products required for the portable crusher
• Identify ways to increase efficiencies and reduce costs
• Work with Crushing and Screening Manager on Identifying future needs for equipment related to crushers and screeners
• Assist with winter maintenance
• Ensure all operators are completing daily equipment reports
We're on the hunt for a Crushing Superintendent to lead the charge in our quarry. As the captain of crushing, you'll ensure that daily operations are carried out in accordance with company protocols and inspect work in progress to ensure quality meets all specifications, adjusting schedules accordingly. You will provide leadership to the crew and facilitate a safe work culture, ensuring all health, safety, and environmental policies are being adhered to. You will review all completed work, ensuring appropriate documentation and administrative duties such as time sheets and inspections are completed, tracking quantities and production. The preventative maintenance schedule must be followed, ensuring all required maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment and plant to ensure quality and production.
