About the Role

The Buyer is responsible for the timely and efficient procurement of goods, materials, and services that support Auxly's day-to-day operations. This role emphasizes operational excellence, supplier collaboration, and data accuracy to maintain the flow of materials while supporting business continuity and compliance. The Buyer will maintain accurate system data, monitor supplier performance, and support continuous communication across departments to meet inventory and delivery targets. In addition to core buying functions, the Buyer contributes to procurement initiatives by identifying process gaps, supporting sourcing efforts, and helping implement improvements led by the Procurement and Strategic Sourcing teams. The ideal candidate brings attention to detail, strong follow-through, and a commitment to procurement excellence in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Excellence:
  • Generate and manage purchase orders based on MRP recommendations and internal requisitions.
  • Monitor open orders, expedite deliveries, and ensure supplier commitments are met.
  • Maintain accurate pricing, delivery terms, and item data in the ERP system.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain, Planning, and Warehouse teams to align purchasing activities and MRP data with demand and inventory targets.
  • Supplier Relationship Management:
  • Collaborate with suppliers to confirm order status, resolve delivery or quality issues, and maintain reliable communication channels.
  • Support vendor onboarding, performance tracking, and qualification documentation.
  • Participate in supplier reviews and contribute to scorecard evaluations.
  • Ensure supplier compliance with Auxly's quality, service, and documentation standards.
  • Reporting & Procurement Data Management
  • Provide regular procurement reports including PO tracking, delivery performance, and inventory support.
  • Assist in preparing data for supplier performance metrics and internal KPIs.
  • Monitor trends and flag potential supply disruptions or risks to management.
  • Identify recurring challenges or bottlenecks and escalate them for resolution or process review.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Act as a key contact point and liaise with internal departments including Production, Quality, R&D, and Finance to ensure procurement supports business needs.
  • Communicate status updates clearly and proactively to internal stakeholders.
  • Support new product introduction activities by coordinating purchase requirements and supplier setup.
  • Share insights and feedback from daily operations to help inform sourcing or process decisions.

  • Process Awareness & Strategic Procurement Support

  • Participate in procurement system improvements by providing end-user feedback and identifying inefficiencies in P2P workflows.
  • Standardize and optimize procurement processes with help of procurement manager, ensuring compliance with global procurement guidelines and best practices.
  • Collaborate with the Procurement and Strategic Sourcing teams to ensure alignment with sourcing strategies and assist in sourcing initiatives.
  • Support implementation of new procurement tools, templates, or procedures as directed.
  • Help identify opportunities to optimize purchasing efficiency and reduce supply chain risks.
  • Act as a strong advocate for process improvements, ensuring alignment with broader organizational goals.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a procurement or purchasing role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems; experience with Sage or similar platforms is an asset.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple purchase channels and shifting priorities.
  • Excellent attention to detail, follow-through, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills with a collaborative, customer-service mindset and solution-oriented approach.
  • Solid understanding of procurement compliance, documentation, and contract terms.
  • Awareness of procurement best practices and willingness to contribute to continuous improvement.
