Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, prepare high-quality beverages, and maintain a clean and welcoming environment. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced food service setting, utilizing your skills in food handling, cash handling, and POS systems to ensure a positive experience for every guest. Prior barista experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve a variety of coffee, tea, and specialty beverages with attention to quality and presentation
  • Operate POS systems such as Square for order processing and cash handling
  • Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently, including processing payments and giving change
  • Maintain cleanliness of the workspace, including food preparation areas and customer seating areas
  • Ensure food safety and proper food handling procedures are followed at all times
  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting guests warmly, taking orders, and addressing inquiries or concerns
  • Assist in food preparation tasks as needed, including serving baked goods or light snacks
  • Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers promptly without compromising quality

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Barista or in food service is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for motivated candidates
  • Knowledge of POS systems such as Square POS is a plus
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with guests
  • Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy
  • Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Familiarity with food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
  • Excellent time management skills to ensure timely service during peak hours
  • Experience in serving, food preparation, cashiering, and food industry operations is advantageous
