This internship provides opportunities for the successful candidate to learn, grow, and network. The successful candidate will be provided opportunities to contribute and build relationships within Hungerford, between Indigenous communities and organizations, and within the Real Estate and Development Industry.
Role overview
Under the mentorship of the Director of Indigenous Strategies and Relationships, the intern will be:
- Facilitating meetings and supporting Indigenous community engagement
- Supporting interviews with community members in a culturally appropriate manner
- Applying knowledge from an Indigenous worldview to land development projects and approach
- Supporting the creation and improvement of departmental tools and processes.
- Supporting the creation of an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment
- Support the launch of an Indigenous Real Estate brand
- Other responsibilities could be proposed based on candidates' interests and skills.
Ideal Candidate
- Indigenous lived experience
- Interest in launching a career in the Real Estate Industry
- Experience in collecting and working with Indigenous Knowledge and Indigenous land use information, understanding the context of western scientific disciplines, and supporting Indigenous decision-making is an asset.
- Experience in researching and interpreting laws, policies and plans that impact Indigenous lands is an asset.
- Advanced skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Strong organizational skills, self-starter attitude & a sense of curiosity

Compensation
The typical hiring range for this position is $ 40,000 per year. The actual offered salary may vary and will depend on individual experience, qualifications, market conditions for the role, and internal equity.
