About DNM Group
At DNM Group, we build more than structures, we build trust, opportunity, and lasting impact. Our companies are known for their precision, integrity, and performance across the construction, mechanical, and industrial sectors. With a strong foundation in operational excellence and a "Safety First" culture, DNM continues to grow as one of Northern Ontario's most dynamic multi-trade service providers.

As DNM continues its exciting phase of renewal and growth, we are seeking a dynamic customer centric and design-oriented professional to join our team — someone who can help shape client experiences from vision to reality.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a Design & Client Advisor to join the DNM Building, Renovations & Construction Team. This is a client-facing role that blends consultative sales, interior & construction design guidance, and relationship management. The successful candidate will guide clients through the planning and design stages of their projects, ensuring a seamless and engaging experience from initial consultation through completion. Acting as the primary client contact, the Design & Client Advisor will interpret client goals, recommend design and product solutions, prepare proposals, and collaborate closely with estimators, project managers, and business development teams to deliver outcomes that reflect DNM's commitment to quality and innovation. This position plays a pivotal role in driving business growth, deepening client relationships, and helping shape DNM's reputation for excellence across every project we deliver.
Key Responsibilities
Client Engagement and Consultation
- Act as initial Client Advisor internally, and conduct initial consultations to understand client objectives, design preferences, budgets, and project requirements.
- Serve as the primary client liaison throughout the design and planning process, building strong and lasting relationships.
- Present design concepts, materials, and tailored solutions aligned with client vision and DNM capabilities.
- Provide expert advice on layouts, finishes, and design options based on function, style, and budget.
- Partner with Project Teams to ensure consistency in communication, documentation, and project handoffs.
Sales and Business Development
- Promote and sell DNM's comprehensive range of building, renovation & construction service offerings.
- Translate client needs into viable projects that align with company objectives.
- Support business development goals through solution-based selling and superior customer experience.
- Assist in negotiating and finalizing client agreements, ensuring clarity of deliverables and expectations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, innovations, and competitor offerings.
Design Advisory and Material Selection
- Curate and recommend suitable materials, finishes, and fixtures tailored to each project.
- Source samples, catalogues, or digital visualizations to support client decision-making.
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to ensure availability, pricing accuracy, and quality standards.
- Remain current on emerging design and building trends to provide clients with innovative options.
Collaboration and Project Support
- Work with estimators to ensure proposals and budgets reflect client-approved designs.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure seamless transition from design to execution.
- Provide ongoing support during construction as needed to maintain design integrity and client satisfaction.
- Coordinate internally to address any design-related adjustments or feedback throughout the project lifecycle.
Documentation and Administration
- Maintain detailed records of client consultations, proposals, and design selections.
- Support reporting and forecasting on sales performance, client engagement, and conversion metrics.
What You Bring
- Post-secondary education in Design, Architecture, Marketing, or a related discipline preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in design advisory, consultative sales, or client management.
- Proven ability to translate client needs into actionable design and construction solutions.
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Familiarity with construction, renovation, and project management processes.
- Valid Ontario G-Class Driver's License with a clean abstract.
Preferred:
- Proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Understanding of material sourcing, finishes, and fixture specifications.
Competencies:
- Client Focus: Builds strong, trust-based relationships and delivers exceptional service.
- Consultative Selling: Understands client goals and proposes creative, practical solutions.
- Design Knowledge: Advises on materials, finishes, and layouts that elevate project outcomes.
