Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy machinery and industrial equipment. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with hand and power tools, and the ability to work with schematics and technical manuals. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will ensure all equipment operates efficiently, safely, and reliably to support our operations across multiple industries including construction, agriculture, and manufacturing.
Duties
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment Trucks and Trailers
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues using schematics and diagnostic tools
- Conduct welding, assembly, and fabrication tasks as needed for repairs or modifications
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to disassemble, repair, and reassemble machinery
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely using appropriate techniques and equipment
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed
- Troubleshoot electrical systems on machinery including HVAC components when applicable
- Assist with installation of new equipment or upgrades to existing machinery
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols during all maintenance activities
Requirements
- Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair principles applied to heavy machinery
- Experience with electrical systems, schematics interpretation, welding, and mechanical assembly
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently during maintenance procedures
- Familiarity with HVAC systems on industrial equipment is a plus
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance software
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and work in physically demanding environments
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $20.95-$46.58 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
