Director of Operations

to l

ead our production team across mixing, filling, and shipping to ensure every product meets the highest standards of
quality, efficiency, and timeliness. In this key role, you'll optimize operations, champion continuous improvement, and deliver results that exceed client expectations. If you have an engineering background who is a strategic leader, passionate about operational excellence and quality, we want you on our team

Main Job Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities

Production & Planning

  • Collaborate with the planning department to set and maintain efficient production schedules.
  • Ensure all work begins with complete information and available materials to prevent delays.
  • Request and coordinate necessary materials and consumables prior to job start.
  • Oversee final product quality, on-time delivery, and operational performance.
  • Monitor key metrics (output, scrap, downtime) and drive corrective actions as needed.
  • Establish, document, and enforce manufacturing procedures and SOPs.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Lead daily, weekly, and monthly meetings to align teams and communicate priorities.
  • Report KPIs to senior leadership.
  • Foster clear communication across departments and develop team leadership.
  • Collaborate with QA/QC departments to resolve recurring defects.
  • Ensure timely availability of materials through coordination with supply chain.
  • Monitor inventory usage and minimize waste or shortages.
  • Enforce HSE standards and conduct routine safety inspections.
  • Maintain compliance with industry regulations and internal policies.
  • Drive process optimization using Lean, 5S, and root cause analysis.
  • Lead initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce cost.
  • Manage projects, budgets, and timelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (mandatory)
  • Minimum 5 years in a Manufacturing Manager position.
  • Certificate in Lean principles.
  • Must have experience using an ERP system (NetSuite).
  • Knowledge of mixing/filling machines is an asset.
  • Proven track record of leadership skills.
  • High autonomy, initiative and drive, analytical and synthesis skills, punctuality, empathy, and sense of responsibility.
  • Ability to learn and remain calm and focused under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written, in English and French.
  • Organized, self-disciplined, and professional in demeanor.
  • Good teamwork and communication skills.
