The Assistant Warehouse Manager is responsible for guiding and controlling warehouse functions, including overseeing the receiving, distribution, and storage of all food and beverage products within the facility. The role plays an integral part in inventory management, cost control, and event readiness across Warehouse and Premium Warehouse operations. This is a supervisory role that provides direction and oversight to bargaining unit staff and does not perform bargaining unit work, except for instruction/management training, unexpected legitimate and immediate needs, emergencies, or when regular employees are not available, as permitted under the applicable collective agreement.

The RoleDuties & Responsibilities- Manage pre-event preparation and set-up processes for warehouse operations while adhering to established event time schedules, delegating work to Warehouse Floor Supervisors, Leads, and warehouse staff as appropriate.
- Provide supervision and a consistent presence during events, observing warehouse and distribution operations, monitoring service levels to internal clients, and proactively addressing operational issues and gaps without regularly performing bargaining unit tasks.
- Oversee coordination of product ordering in collaboration with functional departments (Concessions, Vending, Premium, Culinary), responding to requests for special orders and event-specific needs.
- Ensure warehouse, commissary, and related storage areas are organized, secure, and aesthetically professional, with well-maintained equipment, racking, and workspaces.
- Manage smooth event breakdown processes, including direction to staff on returns, consolidations, and end-of-event inventory procedures.
- Ensure warehouse and commissary staff are well-trained in safety, service standards, warehouse procedures, and Legends policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with employee break and meal period requirements in accordance with the CBA and applicable employment standards.
- Communicate regularly with internal departments, attending and leading meetings as appropriate to align warehouse support with event and business needs.
- Promote positive employee relations, support effective labour relations practices, and proactively assist in handling labour relations issues in collaboration with management and HR.
- Identify and work to rectify hazardous situations in warehouse and commissary areas to reduce risk to staff, guests, and the operation; ensure safety precautions and controls are in place and followed.
- Interpret and ensure compliance with Legends policies, procedures, and guidelines, as well as applicable government, regulatory, and accrediting agency standards and codes.
- Support inventory management and cost-control initiatives by reviewing usage, variances, and waste, and recommending process improvements.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to direct, coach, and support multiple warehouse teams in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills for managing competing priorities, schedules, and inventory-related activities.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain calm under pressure while maintaining standards of safety and accuracy.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with warehouse staff, management, and internal client departments.
- Strong customer service approach to supporting internal partners (e.g., Concessions, Premium, Vending) with timely and accurate product flows.
- Solid understanding of warehouse procedures, inventory controls, and basic stock management principles.
- Minimum Grade 12 education and at least 1 year of related work experience in warehouse, logistics, or food and beverage support.
- Good working knowledge of English, both written and verbal.
- Smart Serve certification (for interaction with beverage products and alcohol-related handling requirements).
- Demonstrated emotional maturity, professionalism, and respectful, sincere approach to staff and partners.
- Experience working with or understanding policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, and specifications within a structured operation.
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules.
- Frequent standing and walking in warehouse, commissary, and storage areas while observing and supervising operations.
- Frequent bending and reaching related to supervisory inspections and reviewing product placements, in accordance with CBA expectations.
- Ability to lift and move cases (beer, wine, bottles, ingredients, ice, kegs) when required for safety reasons, training demonstrations, or emergency situations, and as permitted under the applicable collective agreement.
- Frequent speaking and hearing to communicate with staff, drivers, and internal departments in a busy warehouse environment.
- Frequent visual focus to review documentation, inventory records, and product labels.
