Great Place to Work
in both the technology and healthcare sectors. Join us in our mission to empower healthcare innovators and improve healthcare differently.
What You Can Expect When Joining The Team
We are hiring our first Procurement Manager to establish and scale the procurement function at Petal. As the founding member of this team, you will design procurement from the ground up, introducing structure, processes, and best practices that empower our teams to move quickly while ensuring compliance and cost optimization.
This is a unique opportunity to step into a high-impact leadership role within a rapidly growing SaaS company that is transforming Canadian healthcare.
Your daily life
In your day to day, you will be led to:
- Lead end-to-end procurement activities, including vendor selection, pricing negotiations, and contract renewals;
- Partner with Finance, Legal, IT, and Security to align vendor agreements with budget, compliance, and risk standards;
- Establish and maintain a centralized repository of vendor contracts, terms, and renewal dates;
- Implement scalable, business-friendly procurement processes and tools (e.g., approval flows, spend management systems);
- Drive continuous improvement in vendor terms, service levels, and cost optimization;
- Advise and support budget owners in vendor evaluation and sourcing to maximize ROI;
- Act as a trusted advisor and change agent to business teams on procurement best practices.
Job requirements
Your profile
Are you a seasoned procurement leader, known for your ability to build strong vendor partnerships, negotiate win-win agreements, and design efficient processes that balance speed with control? Are you looking for the opportunity to create a procurement function from the ground up in a high-growth, proudly Canadian company that is revolutionizing healthcare? The sky is the limit If you have:
- 10+ years of procurement, sourcing, or vendor management experience (ideally in SaaS or technology);
- Proven expertise in negotiating software/SaaS, cloud infrastructure, and professional services agreements;
- Strong knowledge of procurement best practices and comfort with contract review processes;
- A pragmatic, business-friendly approach: balancing rigor with speed;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust across Finance, Legal, IT, and Operations;
- Experience with procurement or spend management platforms (e.g., Coupa, Zip, Vendr, Ironclad). Successful implementations are a strong asset;
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks (SOC 2) and vendor risk management;
- Self-starter who thrives in fast-growing, scaling environments;
- Since you will be regularly interacting with English-speaking colleagues and vendors located outside of Québec, proficiency in both English and French (spoken, written, and read) is required.
Petal's position on remote working
In our opinion, a company cannot claim to be modern, innovative and have the well-being of their team at heart, without attempting to integrate remote working to the level that their business model allows them to. Petal employees continue to benefit from the option of teleworking up to the maximum flexibility permitted by the nature of the position and the smooth running of operations.
Our Benefits
- Recurring hybrid work allowance;
- Compensation that recognizes your contribution;
- 4 to 6 weeks of paid vacation per year;
- 5 paid personal days per year ;
- A group RRSP / DPSP plan with employer contribution;
- A complete group insurance plan, from day 1;
- An annual wellness allowance;
- Access to the Lumino Health telehealth application;
- Flexible work hours and more.
Petal is an active participant in the equal opportunity employment program, and members of the following target groups are encouraged to apply: women, people with disabilities, aboriginal peoples and visible minorities. If you are a person with a disability, assistance with the screening and selection process is available on request.
