ABOUT THIS CAREER OPPORTUNITY
Black & McDonald's NOR (North Ontario Region) Service team is growing If you are an independent, enthusiastic and driven professional searching for an opportunity to build a solid foundation for your career, this position is for you. This position reports directly to the Division Manager and will be working in Ottawa for the NOR region.
The primary goal of the Account Manager is to ensure client satisfaction, contract delivery and secure projects with our existing client base.
- Use the client review process to discover opportunities with existing clients
- Utilize the training provided to prospect, qualify, support estimating, prepare proposals, and secure sustainable service project business as per sales and margin quotas
- Establish and maintain working relationships with customers and ensure contract delivery is to Black & McDonalds' expectations.
- Follow up on inbound/outbound leads. Assess the prospect's needs, provide a general introduction of Black & McDonald's services, qualify the prospect and schedule formal meetings to begin the sales process.
- Work with existing and new customers to life cycle plan and budget equipment repairs
- Conduct business with diplomacy in order to create superior experience as a frontline contact for the company
- Write proposals, conduct equipment surveys and develop replacement pricing documents
- Review results of completed projects with Management and project team members
- Analyze competition to ensure we are both fair and competitive
- Assist with any special requests
- Focus on continuous improvement in all areas of work
- Provide feedback and recommendations on marketing efforts based on direct experiences with clients

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- A university degree or college diploma in business, engineering or related field as appropriate.
- Years of experience as a qualified tradesperson in the construction mechanical and/or HVAC industry may substitute for education requirements.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 5 years' experience in building systems or operational processes and/or in a technical occupation related to HVAC services and equipment
- Project sales experience would be considered an asset
- Building automation controls experience would be considered an asset
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Able to travel on occasion in order to meet prospect requests and project requirements
- Solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills
- Project management and implementation
- Safe Work Practices
- Competency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
