About the Opportunity

We have an exciting full-time opportunity for a Corporate Accountant role to join a growing finance team. This role offers the chance to gain experience working across accounts payable, bank reconciliations, financial reporting, while also providing crucial support to the broader finance team. The Corporate Accountant will take ownership of multiple tasks, applying their detailed and analytical mindset to drive success.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who values learning, personal growth and building their accounting career. Their responsibilities in this role will include:

• Processing accounts payable, including invoice entry, EFT, wire and cheque disbursements.
• Executing for full cycle accounting duties including bank account reconciliations, deposits, payments, posting journal entries and maintenance of the general ledger.
• Preparing residential mortgage advance statements and coordinating funding with lawyers.
• Preparing
  HST filings and corporate tax installments.
• Assisting in the preparation of accurate and timely quarterly and annual working papers and financial statements.
• Performing ad hoc tasks as required.

This opportunity is an in-office role in downtown Toronto that will require you to be in the office 5 days a week.

About You

• Undergraduate degree with 1-2 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Completed or working toward a professional accounting designation.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Financial services or lending experience would be an asset.
• Strong attention to detail with ability to produce accurate and timely work.
• Thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and can adapt quickly to changing priorities and different issues.
• Takes ownership of assigned tasks and is reliable, courteous and professional.
• Strong knowledge of accounting software systems, QuickBooks is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
