Description

We're seeking a seasoned Finance Manager to lead financial operations for an international marine transportation group with entities in Canada and Singapore. This high-impact role oversees financial strategy, reporting, compliance, and performance management across multiple jurisdictions. You'll play a central part in guiding financial decision-making, strengthening internal controls, and driving continuous improvement while leading a high-performing finance team.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting across a complex, multi-entity structure.
  • Oversee statutory filings, regulatory compliance, and audited financial statements in both Canada and Singapore.
  • Drive budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and variance reporting to guide business performance.
  • Provide sophisticated financial modeling to support major decisions, including new vessel acquisitions, divestments, and financing strategies.
  • Oversee treasury functions such as cash flow management, internal borrowing, and working capital optimization.
  • Strengthen internal controls and ensure ongoing SOX compliance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with joint venture partners and uphold shareholder agreement requirements.
  • Support enhancements to finance systems, streamline processes, and lead change management initiatives.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team.
  • Partner closely with cross-functional leaders to support organizational strategy and drive continuous improvement.

What You Must Have

  • Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • CPA (or equivalent) designation is mandatory.
  • 10+ years of post-designation accounting/finance experience with progressive responsibility.
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Expertise working with ERP systems and multi-currency environments.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong technical accounting skills (IFRS knowledge is an asset).
  • Experience with financial reporting for multi-entity structures.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and lead through change.

Who Will Excel in This Role

You'll thrive here if you're a strategic thinker who enjoys navigating complexity and working across borders. The ideal candidate is confident in technical accounting, energized by operational challenges, and motivated to build scalable processes in a growing international environment. You're a natural relationship builder, a steady leader during change, and someone who is both detail-oriented and business-minded.

Why Join the Team

  • Influence financial strategy across an international organization.
  • Opportunity to lead meaningful process improvements and system enhancements.
  • Work with a dedicated and collaborative leadership team.
  • Hands-on experience in an industry undergoing growth and modernization.
  • Ability to shape the finance function and mentor a talented team.

Salary & Perks

  • Compensation: $140,000–$170,000 annually (18-month contract).
  • Exposure to international finance operations and cross-border leadership.
  • Opportunity to lead a talented and engaged finance team.
  • High-impact role with significant strategic visibility.
