As an impact investing intern at Rally Assets, you will work with and learn from a leading impact investment team in Canada, gaining a solid understanding of the impact investing sector, the breadth and diversity of impact investments, and the power of impact investing to support transformative change.
This internship is being offered as a part of the Good & Well Social Impact Internship Program. As an intern you will have the opportunity to participate in personal and professional development workshops led by social impact leaders and connect with a community of like-minded peers. Throughout your summer internship with us, up to 20% of your time will be spent participating in Good & Well programming, attending professional development and career workshops, wellness and personal development sessions, a 3-day outdoor retreat, and optional social gatherings and activities outside of working hours. As a result, interns are requested to be available for all 14 weeks and must attend G&W sessions in person in Toronto.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
The intern will support the evaluation of public equity and fixed income investments, including companies and third-party funds, by assessing their financial characteristics and social and environmental impact in alignment with Rally Assets' client values and objectives.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Applicants can expect this role to include the following:
- Support the maintenance and expansion of Rally Assets' public investment product database across asset classes
- Assist with the screening and due diligence of public investment opportunities from both a financial and impact perspective, including drafting investment memos and participating in internal review committee meetings
- Support ongoing monitoring and internal reporting of financial and impact performance
- Assist with proxy voting activities in alignment with Rally Assets' Proxy Voting Policies
- Participate in team meetings and discussions, gaining exposure to investment decision-making processes
QUALIFICATIONS
On your resume, we ask that you demonstrate the following:
- That you are legally able to work in Canada
- Proficiency in English
- Enrolment as a second-year student or above in a Canadian post-secondary program, returning to school in the fall after the internship (graduate programs count)
- Enrolment in a relevant degree in a field such as business, finance, economics, or sustainability
- A record of high academic achievement or commitment to delivering high-quality work
- Experience exploring how impact investing can support social and environmental justice
- Advanced knowledge of spreadsheets, databases, and the Microsoft suite of products
- Familiarity with or willingness to explore the use cases of responsible AI in the context of investment research
