The Division:

Evergreen School Division is located in the Interlake region of Manitoba, bordering the shores of Lake Winnipeg from Chalet Beach north to Hecla Island. The Division office is located in Gimli, approximately 90 KM north of Winnipeg. The school community is culturally diverse and provides quality learning opportunities to students in eight schools located in four communities (Winnipeg Beach, Gimli, Arborg, and Riverton).

Teacher Candidate Qualifications:

  • A valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate
  • Early or Middle or Senior Years teaching experience
  • Ability and desire to develop strong relationships with students and staff
  • Knowledge of strategies to support Indigenous learners in a cross-cultural setting
  • Experience with a variety of learning needs
  • A willingness / ability to be involved in the extra-curricular life of the school
  • Knowledge of strategies re: Indigenous Education and Inclusion
  • Commitment to involvement in a highly collaborative school culture
  • Knowledge and experience in current instructional / assessment practices

MusicTeacher Candidate Additional Qualifications

  • Level 1 Orff training
  • Certification and teaching experience in music (Early/Middle Years preferred)
  • Ability to play piano and accompany is an asset
