Database Engineer

The requirement is for Database developers with Java knowledge preferred

Database Development:

- Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models.

- Create and maintain relational database schemas, optimizing table structures

- Ensure data integrity and consistency through appropriate data modeling techniques.

- Implement and maintain database security measures.

- Writing and optimizing complex SQL queries, stored procedures and functions

- Monitor database performance and identify areas for improvement.

- Integrate data from various sources into a unified database environment.

Java Development:

- Analysis, design and development of Java-based applications

- High level and detailed application designs

- Writing well designed, testable and efficient code ensuring code quality

- Completing unit testing and supporting integration testing, End to End testing and UAT

Common:

Follow change management process

Work closely with project stakeholders to understand their data requirements, provide technical guidance and support.

Working cooperatively in a cross functional team environment

Experience in agile methodologies and ceremonies.

Technical competences required

Database Development:

  • Strong understanding of database concepts, data modelling, and database technologies.
  • Experience with any relational database is good (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL)
  • Advanced skills in writing, debugging and optimizing SQL queries
  • Experience in data modelling techniques and database design principles
  • Experience in identifying and resolving database performance issues
  • Knowledge of AWS cloud platform

Java Development:

  • Extensive experience in Java Development
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles
  • Proficiency in Java frameworks like Spring and Hibernate
  • Knowledge in technologies - React, REST

Job Type: Fixed term contract

Contract length: 6 months

Pay: Up to $52.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 per week

Work Location: Remote
