Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Dietary Aide to join our team at St. Joseph's General Hospital Elliot Lake. In this role, you will assist in meal preparation and food service for patients and residents, ensuring that dietary needs are met with compassion and respect. Your contributions will play a vital role in enhancing the overall patient experience.

Required Qualifications:

  • Secondary School Graduate Diploma, minimum Grade 12
  • Food Safety Training Certificate based on Public Health Food Handler Training Protocol

Abilities/Skills/Knowledge:

  • Support SJGHEL's Mission, Vision & Values of Compassion, Humility & Harmony, Respect, Integrity, Social Responsibility and The Sacredness of Life
  • Previous experience in food services, food preparation, food handling and sanitation, and operation of equipment
  • Knowledge of current food handling, sanitation and safety procedures and current therapeutic dietetic practices
  • Knowledge of public health and sanitation regulations, H.A.C.C.P. Food Safety, Sanitation Code, WHMIS regulations, O.H. & S. Act and regulation's Health Care, as per departmental education and written material
  • Ability to prioritize and manage high volume workload
  • Computer competency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent organizational, time management and record-keeping skills
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position which can include bending, lifting and moving heavy items, as well as standing for long periods of time
