Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Finance Officer to oversee the financial health of our organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial planning, reporting, and analysis to support informed decision-making. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the financial stability and growth of our organization through effective financial management and compliance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Management:

  • Maintain accurate financial records, prepare monthly financial statements and reports, manage organizational budget, monitor cash flow, develop internal financial controls

Accounting Functions:

  • Process accounts payable and receivable, manage QuickBooks financial tracking, prepare donor financial reports, ensure compliance with accounting standards in Ontario.

Payroll Management:

  • Maintain payroll transaction records

Audit Support:

  • Assist with internal and external audits, prepare audit documentation, ensure regulatory compliance

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

Essential Criteria:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance
  • 3-5 years professional financial experience
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong analytical capabilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional accounting certification (CPA/ACCA)
  • Master's degree in Finance
  • Previous NGO/research organization experience

Pay: $19.61-$31.37 per hour
