The Role is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Software Engineer to help bring this vision to life. You will play a key role in developing and maintaining our full-stack application, which features a frontend and a Python backend. This role requires a strong understanding of modern web development practices, database management, cloud infrastructure, and secure software development principles.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable features across the full stack, from the user interface to backend services.
- Work closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to define, design, and ship thoughtful, high-impact features.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and technical strategy as we grow.
- Optimize performance and ensure reliability, security, and smooth user experiences.
- Follow secure coding practices aligned with OWASP guidelines.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and continuously improve system stability.
- Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code that others enjoy reading.
- Join in-person company gatherings a few times a year to collaborate and connect.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of professional software development experience.
- Proficiency in a modern frontend javascript/typescript framework (e.g. , React).
- Strong experience with Python for backend development.
- Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker).
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or similar cloud platforms.
- Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
- Solid understanding of database systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, NoSQL).
- Familiarity with testing frameworks and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a low-ego, open-minded approach to collaboration.
Bonus Points
- Experience with Nuxt.
- Experience with FastAPI.
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code (e.g., Pulumi, CDK, Terraform).
- Have built an AI-enabled application or feature.

Compensation
- Role offers 0.25-1% equity in the United States.
- This position is open to applicants in the United States, Canada, Central America, and South America. Salary may vary based on location, experience, and qualifications, except as listed below:
- United States (including California, Colorado, Maryland, Connecticut, Washington DC, Ohio): $120,000.00-$160,000.00 USD
- Canada: $120,000.00-$150, CAD
