The Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) at Yorkville University prepares students

Position Overview

Reporting to an Associate Chair, Master of Counselling Psychology, the Teaching Faculty
Member plays a vital role in advancing the University's academic mission and fostering
excellence in teaching, learning, and scholarship. This position combines instructional
responsibilities, service, research, and student mentorship, with a strong emphasis on creating
an inclusive and supportive learning environment that promotes student success.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching and facilitating counselling psychology theory and skills courseFostering student success through ongoing support and coaching Managing discussion forums and learning activities through the Brightspace platformTimely marking and feedback for all student assessmentsRespond to student inquiries and concernsCoordinate with Practicum Supervisors to complete Formative and Summative evaluationsFacilitate online synchronous activities related to the curriculumPerform administrative tasks related to the courseSupport strategic program growth and ensure on going self-development in the field


Skills, Experience and Competencies
 

 A doctoral degree in psychology or a counselling related fieldMinimum of 5 years work experience in counselling, psychology, psychotherapy, or related fieldCanadian facultyActive clinical practice registration/certification/license with an appropriate professional regulatory body or association in your province/jurisdiction (in adherence to relevant provincial regulatory laws)Teaching experience at graduate level is a strong assetExperience using Brightspace online delivery platform is a strong asset Exceptional English communication skills, both written and verbal#LI-Remote
