We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director, Motion Design to join our team. As an Associate Director, Motion Design, you will be responsible for creating visually stunning motion graphics and special effects. Creating short and long form animation, social first content, GIFs, and web animations that balance strong craft, clear storytelling, and business impact. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in contributing to GALE's media storytelling, process, and digital brand strategy, while actively participating in the planning and storyboarding of motion/video projects.

Who You Are...

  • Extensive experience as a Motion Graphics Designer in a senior or lead role
  • Strong portfolio showcasing proficiency in creating captivating motion graphics
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software, such as Adobe After Effects, Figma, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, and Photoshop
  • Solid understanding of animation principles, composition, and visual storytelling
  • Strong knowledge of typography, color theory, and graphic design principles
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in an in-person and remote team environment
  • Ability to meet deadlines and collaborate with a team and clients
  • Attention to visual details
  • Ability to remain focused under pressure within a fast-paced environment.A love for learning new things and exploring new formats
  • Experience with video and image generative Ai
  • Nice to have: 3D Capabilities

LEADERSHIP & STRATEGIC IMPACT

  • Proven experience leading and supporting multidisciplinary midsize creative teams, with direct or indirect management of designers, animators, and creatives
  • Ability to successfully collaborate across domains including strategy, media, brand, technology, and production to align creative output with business goals
  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm and decisive in high-pressure situations, including tight timelines, live moments, and shifting priorities
  • Experience scoping new work, providing accurate time and effort estimates, and helping teams plan effectively against deadlines and resourcing
  • A forward-thinking mindset, proactively identifying opportunities to improve workflows, elevate creative output, and evolve motion systems, processes, and storytelling approaches
  • Proven mentorship experience, offering thoughtful, actionable feedback and guiding creative direction to support the growth and development of others
  • Strong organizational and operational skills, with experience using software and systems to ingest, track, prioritize, and manage workloads across individual contributors and teams, ensuring clarity, accountability, and on-time delivery

What You'll Be Doing...

  • Work with a wide range of media, special effects, graphic design, and animation software
  • Knowledge of layouts, animation fundamentals, special effects, storyboarding, storytelling, and typography
  • Contribute to the direction of and work within corporate branding guidelines
  • Think creatively and develop new concepts
  • Prepare rough drafts and present ideas
  • Amend final designs to gain full approval
  • Work as part of a team with copywriters, designers, video editors and creativesWork with internal teams to translate their communication intent into visual form
  • Lead the planning and implementation of design projects working with the Design Manager
