Are you a strategic leader passionate about shaping the future of healthcare for Albertans? Recovery Alberta is a newly created provincial health agency responsible for providing comprehensive and accessible recovery-oriented mental health and addiction services, and correctional health services. We have an exciting leadership role available as Senior Consultant to the Chief Operating Officer. This integral position is part of the operations leadership team providing vision, expert support, and strategic recommendations for the overall operations of Recovery Alberta. Supporting the Chief Operating Officer, this role ensures that services are developed, delivered, and aligned with the strategic direction of Recovery Alberta. Working in close partnership with the Senior Operating Leadership Team, Executive Leadership Team and Ministry, the Senior Consultant is jointly accountable to provide strategic coordination and leadership support, operational and financial coordination, project and working group management, and stakeholder engagement and communication. This position's location is negotiable within the province of Alberta. Recovery Alberta provides a recovery-oriented system of care via a coordinated network of personalized, community-based services for people at risk of experiencing addiction and mental health challenges. It provides access to a full continuum or treatment services and supports.

Description:

The Senior Consultant plays a pivotal role in driving organizational priorities and advancing strategic initiatives. Working closely with the Chief Operating Officer and Senior Leadership Team, this position leads complex projects, supports new programs, and delivers insights that shape the future of mental health and addiction services in Alberta. Acting on behalf of the COO, the Senior Consultant provides high-level recommendations to senior leaders and ensures alignment with provincial goals. Collaboration is key, as the Senior Consultant works with corporate teams including Communications, Strategy and Performance, People and Culture, Medical Affairs, Health Shared Services and Operational Support Services. Serving as a trusted liaison across portfolios and external bodies, the Senior Consultant ensures seamless information flow and effective representation of the Chief Operating Officer. Working in close collaboration with the Chief Operating Officer, this role drives measurable improvements in service accessibility and quality while supporting operational excellence. Required Qualifications:

The successful candidate possesses a bachelor's degree in a healthcare profession, healthcare management, or business administration. Additionally, you possess a minimum of five (5) years of experience in healthcare operations within an organization of comparable complexity and size, along with a strong foundation in operational finance and organizational processes. You bring experience and/or education in project management and change leadership and have successfully developed and led intensive projects – preferably related to addiction and mental health. If you are eligible to be registered with a regulated health organization under the Health Professions Act (Alberta) You are required to possess membership in good standing with the applicable regulated health organization.

Additional Required Qualifications:

The successful candidate demonstrates excellent leadership abilities and is comfortable with decision-making and exercising sound judgement. Utilizing your ability to develop organizational strategy and planning, you have led and supported several programs both with internal and external stakeholders. You have led organizational strategic initiatives and managed change to achieve positive results, and mediated resolutions to complex situations. Your well-cultivated interpersonal and public relations skills have helped you successfully communicate effectively with a wide variety of audiences. You have excellent relationship-building skills and have had proven success fostering partnerships with public agencies, governments, board, regulatory bodies, committees, and community partners to achieve organizational goals.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's level Education is an asset. Formal education or certification in project management and an ability to lead complex projects is an asset. Proven skills in resource and budget management are an asset.
